If you look out over the Pacific Ocean, you will see one of the clearest water in the Kanto region.
Blessed with a mild climate, the temperature has never exceeded 35°C in the past 100 years.
It is cool in summer and warm in winter. The pleasant climate is one of the reasons why people have loved the area for a long time.
The Katsuura morning market, where you can find seasonal seafood, is also a must-see.
With a history of over 400 years, it is one of the three major morning markets in Japan.
You will see stalls selling vegetables, fruits, and handicrafts. As the proverb goes, the early bird gets the worm.

Uminokaori
A quaint building over 40 years old was
transformed into a vacation home in 2023.
While preserving the traditional atmosphere, we have also made efforts to give it somewhat a modern feel.
The wet areas such as the bathroom and sinks are fully renovated with new fixtures. We also installed brand-new home appliances. We sought to achieve a renovation fusing tradition and modernity.
We hope your stay at “Uminokaori” becomes a special part of your journey and creates lasting memories.
Accomodations・Amenities
Except for the dining room, all the rooms are Tatami rooms where you can enjoy the scent of Igusa, traditional natural fiber used to weave the surface of Japanese tatami mats.
The second floor overlooks the ocean and offers a relaxing atmosphere with a subtle scent of the sea and gentle light.

- Katsuura Morning Market
- At the Katsuura morning market, you can taste fresh local produce.Katsuura was once recorded as the largest bonito catch in Japan, and its bonito sandwiches are exquisite.You can see many more specialties such as Katsuura tantanmen. The morning market is full of attractions.
Please enjoy the lively atmosphere as you stroll through the market.

- Ubara Risoukyo
- Ubara Risoukyo is a stunning stretch of ria coastline shaped by the waves of the Pacific Ocean. With its crystal-clear blue waters and dramatic coastal scenery, it is one of the area's most picturesque spots for a leisurely walk and breathtaking ocean views.
During the Taisho era (1912–1926), there were plans to develop this area as a vacation retreat, leading to the name "Ideal Land"—a name that continues to evoke its timeless beauty and peaceful atmosphere.
Located just a 6-minute drive from Umi no Kaori, Ubara Risoukyo is a wonderful destination for hiking and sightseeing. After exploring the scenic trails, visitors can also enjoy Katsuura's famous tantanmen at one of the nearby local restaurants, making for a perfect day of nature and local flavors.🌊✨
- Marine Sport
- Katsuura's crystal-clear waters are rich in marine life, making it a popular destination for fishing enthusiasts. A wide variety of fish can be found here, including horse mackerel, sardine, mackerel, bluefin squid, and black sea bream.
The area is also renowned for its surfing. Hebara Beach, one of Japan's premier surfing destinations and home to international surfing competitions, offers waves for surfers of all skill levels. Depending on the swell and tide conditions, visitors can enjoy everything from gentle, rolling waves to more challenging breaks.
Beyond surfing, Katsuura offers a wide range of ocean activities, including stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), scuba diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking, and cruising.
Surrounded by beautiful coastal scenery and abundant nature, it is the perfect place to experience the sea and create unforgettable memories.

What time is the check-in/out time?
Please check in between 15:00 and 22:00, check out by 10:00.
Can I pay by credit card or other cashless payment
methods?
Yes, we accept credit cards. In addition to credit cards, we also accept bank transfers. Please inquire in advance if this is the case. We cannot accept payment for accommodation on site.

Is there a cancellation fee?
Cancellations are free of charge up until five days prior to the arrival date. If a cancellation is made four days or less before the arrival date, 100% of the accommodation fee will be charged. （For example） for a stay scheduled on August 15th, cancellations made from August 11th to 15th will incur a 100% charge.
Can I cancel my stay without notice?
No. No-shows without notice will be charged 100% for all nights.
Can more than 11 people stay?
You may stay with more than 11 people if the following conditions are acceptable.
１.Dining space・There is a table that seats 5 people.
・In the room right next to it, there is also a built-in table where you can dine while sitting on tatami mats.This table can seat about 5 people.
It is the area shown with a computer in the photos on our website and travel booking sites.
２.BathroomThere is only one bathroom. Please use it in turns, or use a nearby public bath facility.
３.ToiletsThere is one toilet on the first floor and one on the second floor.
４.WashbasinPlease use the washbasin and the kitchen.
５.Bedrooms・There are two rooms on the second floor where up to 3 single futons can be laid out in each room.
・There are also 4 futons in the living room on the first floor.
You may move the futons from the second floor to the first floor by yourselves if you would like everyone to relax together. If you move them, we would appreciate it if you could return them to the second floor afterward. Some of our cleaning staff are elderly, and it is difficult for them to carry heavy futons. Thank you for your understanding.
Do you have a parking lot?
Parkings are available on-site and behind the building.We will direct you to direct you to the appropriate parking lot depending on the type of vehicle.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is not allowed inside the building. If smoking is found inside the building, we will charge a cleaning fee and a nuisance fee. If you wish to smoke, please smoke near the parking lot in front of the building and bring your own ashtray.
Can I use the Internet?
Yes, we have fiber optic internet access.
Are pets allowed?
Sorry, but we do not allow pets to stay at this home.
Are meals included?
No, meals are not included.Please use the nearby restaurants or the kitchen in the building.
